Uterine Sounds (DS) are used for two purposes, one to dilator the cervix and the second to measure the cervix. Sounds are graduated in either inches or centimeters, centimeters being the most popular. Sounds are also malleable so they can be bent to follow the true curve of the cervix and uterus.
